Gov. Walker succeeded in breaking the teachers’ union, which was a good thing for the school systems that had tenured teachers that weren’t teaching because they were “untouchable” and allowed the school systems to hire new teachers that were eager to actually teach. There are schools in Wisconsin, just as there are in other states, that are failing the students. He also, in his attempt, took away the collective bargaining from many of the public service unions. On one hand, this can be good, on the other, it will be abused by the municipalities which is why the unions were put in place in the first place. He was going to begin to make Wisconsin a Right to Work state, but has forgone that effort due to his pursuit for a run for office in 2016. (Apparently, someone else has picked it up.)
I will say, that to the entire Unions’ that came out in support, to Madison, to the Capital, it is shameful that YOU created the need for OT LEOs, and then when all was said and done, YOU left damages that cost the WISCONSIN tax-payer $200,000 to repair. Thank you for behaving like professionals. Many of you sport the name Professional in your Union name. You did NOT represent yourselves very well at all. I am ashamed of you.
SO, let’s just fast forward now. Embolden with his ‘victory’ over the union-busting he thinks he did, he is now heading for a run for POTUS.
What I don’t think he is aware of, is that the one union that he thinks he disbanded, and the others that he affected the collective bargaining rights from are only from ONE State.
He will be traveling throughout all the “most important” states and, I will promise you, Gov. Walker, the Union Worker’s that are currently unemployed will be right there, everywhere you go, to remind you of who they are. There are a LOT more Unions in the 50 States that you would represent as POTUS than you sought to bust as Governor in Wisconsin.
I voted for you every time. I voted GOP. The only GOP member that deserves my vote is my State Representative. Only she will get my vote. No other GOP will ever get my vote ever again. This is due to Congressman Paul Ryan. Congressman Ryan, whom I had once held in the highest regard, has finally shown his colors now that he is the 4th most powerful man in DC. Sure, he’ll help you campaign. Make no mistake, the I’ll scratch your back if you’ll scratch mine will come to call. They are all self-seeking, political machines.
So, good luck to you as you will need it. As a contender, you don’t get Secret Service! Maybe you can find some of those LEOs that you took away their bargaining rights to go with you as body guards.
Happy trails, Gov. Walker…
